Nathaniel Pierre Jones, known as DJ Pierre, is a pioneer in dance music. In 1986, using the Roland TB-303, he created "Acid Tracks," the track that ignited the acid house movement. Pierre is credited with defining two major genres—acid house and wildpitch—that have shaped the course of electronic music. His influence stretches across generations of artists, with his name closely associated with legends like Carl Cox, Daft Punk, Richie Hawtin, and more. As a member of Phuture, Pierre helped shape the sound of house music, and his collaborations with David Morales, Felix Da Housecat, and Barbara Tucker on "The Horn Song" further cemented his legacy. He also played a pivotal role as Head of A&R at Strictly Rhythm, where he helped shape the label’s iconic catalog. Today, through his labels Afro Acid, Jack Trax, and Afro Deep, DJ Pierre continues to innovate. His first artist album, Wild Pitch: The Story, released after 30 years of successful singles and EPs, demonstrates his timeless ability to create music that resonates. Pierre describes his music as an intense, hypnotic fusion of rhythms and grooves that move both the body and the soul. His music provides a perfect foundation for film, television, and commercial projects, infusing them with a raw, authentic energy that enhances any production. His legacy as a pioneer remains a driving force in the future of music across industries.
